How does Capital Fleet Tracker know when a part will fail?

We combine manufacturer service intervals, real world wear data from a wide range of vehicles, and the specific usage pattern of each vehicle in your fleet. Mileage, vehicle type, duty cycle, and service history all feed the forecast. The longer a vehicle is on the platform, the more refined its predictions become.

Do I need an OBD-II device to use the platform?

No. You can update mileage manually at any time. An OBD-II device is recommended for fleets that want fully automated data collection, but it is entirely optional.

What vehicles are supported?

Passenger cars, light trucks, commercial trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and industrial generators. If it has wear components, we can track it.

How do volume discounts work?

Discounts apply automatically based on your total vehicle count. At 10 vehicles you receive 5% off, at 50 you receive 10% off, at 100 you receive 12% off, and at 150 or more you receive 15% off. No paperwork or negotiation required.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. Cancel any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Change or cancel plan, which opens our secure billing portal — or email support@capitalfleettracker.com. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for.

Is GPS tracking included?

GPS tracking is an optional add on at $6.99 per vehicle per month ($18.87 per 3 months, $35.65 per 6 months, $67.10 per year). It is separate from the core predictive maintenance subscription.

Is there a free plan, and what does it include?

Yes, and it does not expire. Everything is free for every account until September 30, 2026 with no credit card. After that, the permanent ad-supported free plan covers 1 vehicle or asset, all of its fluids, and 50 maintenance parts you choose. It keeps your 3 most recent reports — saving a fourth deletes the oldest, and you can download any report to keep it permanently. Still no credit card. A paid subscription removes the ads and the limits.

What happens if I do not subscribe after the free period?

Your account becomes read-only — it is not closed, suspended or deleted. Every vehicle, part, mileage entry, receipt and saved report stays readable, and you can still download your reports. You just cannot record anything new until you either subscribe or accept the ad-supported free plan, which you can do at any time. We do not delete your fleet data because you stopped paying.

Why do I have to accept the Privacy Policy for the free plan?

The free plan is paid for by advertising, which means an ad provider receives your device’s advertising identifier and standard device information. That is a kind of sharing that does not happen on a paid plan, so we ask you to read and accept it first rather than switching it on quietly. Ticking the box is your choice and the box is never pre-ticked. Your fleet data is never used for advertising — not your vehicles, mileage, parts, receipts or service records. See Advertising and the Free Plan.

How is equipment priced differently?

Boats and watercraft are $0.99 per month each. Motorcycles, scooters, and ATVs are sold in 10-packs at $2.99 per month (about $0.30 each). Construction and industrial equipment are also $2.99 per 10-pack — and you get 25 free equipment slots for every 10 vehicles you track.

Do you guarantee my vehicle will not break down?

No. Capital Fleet Tracker provides forecasts and guidance. It cannot prevent failures caused by manufacturing defects, accidents, or owner neglect. Please see our Liability Disclaimer for full details.

How does the referral program work?

Partners receive 29.5% of revenue generated from customers they refer, for the entire time those customers remain active. Roughly speaking, that works out to about $0.59 per referred vehicle per month. Reach out to partners@capitalfleettracker.com to learn more.

Is my data sold to third parties?

No. We do not sell customer data. See our Data Usage Policy for complete details on how vehicle and account information is collected and used.

Can multiple people on my team access the account?

Yes. You can add drivers, mechanics, and managers with role based permissions. Each role sees only what they need to do their job.

What happens if a forecast is wrong?

Forecasts are estimates, not guarantees. We continually refine our models based on outcome data. If a part fails outside its forecasted window, it does not change your subscription or trigger any liability on our part.
